Game Board Geek Gaming Convention

I attended the Game Board Geek Gaming Convention over Memorial Day Weekend and had a terrific time.  Board Game Geek is the definitive website that rates thousands of board, card, RPG, and computer games.  They are the definitive site if you are thinking of purchasing a game and need to see how others rate the game.  There is no pulling of punches here as they tell you all about the game.  Also I like it since games will have online reviews, actual videos of the game being played, and available free files for variants of the game, playing aids, etc.  Really cool stuff.

The Convention is held twice a year at the Hyatt Regency – DFW Airport.  Unfortunately I did not pre-register so was unable to participate in the lion share of the convention.  But I did get to participate in the Free Section of the gaming convention.  They are so popular that if you don’t pre-register, then you can’t get in so I highly recommend that you pre-register a year our in advance.  Here are some pictures of what I enjoyed in the free section when I was there.  Click on each image to enlarge.  Click on video at the bottom to see live example of a game.

This addictive game is suitable from ages 8-9 years old on up. All players are required to multiply and add and builds up core math skills. Each player takes turn nudging or throwing a die. If your die rolls off the board it scores zero. Each player has 5 dices to throw one at a time. Multiply the number showing on each die times the zone it lands in (-1 to 4).

This is a fun tower building game. Don't be the one that causes the tower to topple. Nice wood pieces. When it crashes it is noisy.
